Questions on my future

Seeing as how I'm going to college next year, I've been thinking about my future quite a bit lately. Even more so with the new semester. Between the schools I've applied to, I have no idea which one I actually want to attend. I would be happy with either choice I think. The harder question is what I want to major in. I know it's not something that I need to know about right now, or even within the next two or so years. But I am a person who likes to know what the next step is, with no mysteries. My major is a big mystery. I've been looking into a bunch of different things, and I still have no idea. Hm.
But, on much lighter and more fun news, the newest Alex Pettyfer movie has finally come out! This weekend! And I am going to see it TOMORROW!!!! I'm very excited.
I watched Signs for the first time last night, and I enjoyed it. Both of my parents would have hated it, but I thought it was good. I don't mind being a little freaked out now and again. But no freakier than Signs or Disturbia. Those are my limits. Like I said, a LITTLE freaked out. Not a lot. That's too scary.
I'm out.
Urg, that doesn't work as a closer either. How about Up, up and away!!
Nope. Still workin' on it.

Stickyness

I am stuck with one of my stories. I have been working on this story very seriously for a while, spending lots of time thinking about it, planning, brainstorming, talking it over with myself, researching, etc. And for my mentor/intern class I have started reading this book about characterization by Orson Scott Card. It's been very useful and inspiring. But, as I'm going back to fix things, its been very difficult. I like my beginning so far and I was planning on just sticking some new stuff in.
But, looking through it again, I have realized that I need to start it over. Granted, its only 33 pages. But its hard for me to not only let go of the version I have right now, but to get it out of my head all the way. Hm. And, I might need to switch the perspective I'm writing from, so I need to decide before I do anything.
Decisions, decisions.
It's going to take me a while. Darn it. I wish the beginning I have set up in my head would just appear on the paper. Or rather, computer screen.
I need my mentor, a person that I have yet to meet this semester. :/
Wish me luck!
SO, on to other things that are just as important. I am Number Four comes out this weekend! Alex Pettyfer (if thats how you spell his last name...) is the main character. He's one of my all time FAVORITE actors. My friends and I have been waiting for this movie for like six months. It's very exciting. We're going to see it. I'll tell you how it goes.
AND to make things even BETTER, another movie staring him comes out in about a month. It's called Beastly, and its a story off of Beauty and the Beast. Which, by the way, was one of my favorite disney movies as a kid. So, I'm getting two amazing things in one movie. I can't wait for that one either.

Characterization

So during lunch today I came up with the funniest way to describe two friends and myself. I was trying to explain our love of.... pretty much everything to a friend.
Friend #1: Princess Damsel in distress.
Friend #2: Princess that saves herself. She climbs trees and is an amazing archer.
Me: Amazing ninja pirate. They do exist.
It fits really, really well. No, seriously. It does.

A Company of Swans

I just finished reading this book. Literally, just finished. Like two minutes ago. Its by Eva Ibbotson. Its set in the early 1900's with a girl who lives in Cambridge with her horrible father and aunt. She escapes to become a ballerina. Its a very cute book. There is a little too much description toward the beginning with ballet that I didn't care for and ended up skimming, but the rest is very good. It ends happily and has a cute sense of humor.
I thought I should share.

Cold and a taste of the Sea

Two things happened to me today. Well, a lot more than two things, but two worth mentioning. Three. Four.
1. My basement is really cold. Seeing as how I spend most of my time down here, it means that I am almost always seen with a felt blanket around my shoulders. I would say I look like batman or some other amazing superhero, but it's hard to imagine a superhero wearing a cape with puppies or flowers on it. Even though our basement is finished, it is too cold. I don't understand.
2. I ate squid and cuttlefish for the first time tonight. I was disappointed, it didn't have as much flavor as I'd hoped. They almost tasted like chewy tuna. Weird. I'm thinking it has something do with the rest of the dish.
3. I got the spikes taken out of my mouth!!! FINALLY! I've had spikes to help with my tongue thrust for about 6 months. They were glued to the back of my four front teeth, and very annoying. As of today, they are gone for good! It's a wonderful feeling to finally have no more metal in my mouth. Well, except for my permanent retainer. And that doesn't count, I never notice it.
4. The next Green Rider book came out today!!!!!! A friend of mine is getting it for her b-day later this month, and I am next in line for it. I can't wait, it's been like three years since the last one. That's another book series worth reading. You should look it up, it has an interesting plot and a fun main character.
Space out.
(nice ending catch phrase? hu? hu? yeah.... not really. I still need to find one...)
